HELLO I'M FELICIA
A DEDICATED EDUCATOR!
ABOUT
ABOUT ME
WHAT I'VE DONE
WHAT I DO
I was born and raised in Pascagoula, MS on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I received a bachelor's degree from the University of Southern MS and a master's degree from Jacksonville State University. I moved to Atlanta in 2001 with my two wonderful children. I drove here during a spring break trip, stopped at a gas station and asked someone, "Where is the nearest school district?" I was told, "DeKalb County is that way..." Within two days, I had three job offers and the rest is history! In my spare time, I enjoy reading, perusing educational blogs, vacationing on the beach and parasailing.
As a talented educator, I have experience on all three levels. When I was a middle school classroom teacher, I held many positions such as after-school tutorial director, ELA contact, grade level chairperson, and team leader. Those roles inspired me to do more. I then became an instructional coach on both the middle and high school levels before ultimately becoming an assistant principal. I have been an AP on all three levels, and I thoroughly enjoy the work that I do each and everyday in shaping the students of our future!
I am an assistant principal. I stay abreast of classroom and teaching strategies as I strive to improve teaching and learning. I work daily on shaping a vision of academic success for all students, cultivating leadership in others, and staying focused on data in order to make informed educational decisions based upon the data and the overall needs of the school. Currently, I am the proud assistant principal at the best high school in Georgia!
